These guys used to be called HDNL. They were woeful. You can read about how poor service was then. Instead of rectifying any aspect of a uniformly terrible company, the management just changed the company's name. That demonstrates the rat-like thinking of the company's management.
The only thing they deliver is wasted time. I've just spent a Saturday morning stuck indoors waiting for a redelivery that's failed to show up. This is the last in a number of failed deliveries from a number of different online stores that use this poor poor company. I live in an average street in London where no other couriers have any trouble delivering parcels. It's just this bunch of numpties.
The reason given for the first failed deliver was "incomplete address" yet on the same page, they cited my full address.
The online chat guy had a look and straightaway said, "Can I rearrange delivery" so clearly there was no problem in the first place.
He offered AM delivery and nothing's turned up.
At 12:45 I went online and their chat service is closed, despite stating that it is open until 1pm on Saturdays.
These guys are the pits.
EDIT: Just to add, the latest delivery turned up late in the afternoon -luckily I had just got back in. The driver was a really nice guy - that's been my experience before too - the drivers are decent, conscientious people working hard, but who are being let down by the company and management behind them.
Super fast courier service, with friendly and polite staff. Packages are looked after and handled carefully. I received my package within 24 hours of it arriving in their depot and was very impressed. Highly recommend this service.
I ordered a parcel for delivery that was due 17/05/13 I was given a consignment number from yodel that was completely wrong and went to a le17 address ( at least they got there parcel from sports direct delivered!) I had ordered from serenata flowers to a London address En3. I rang in yesterday at around quarter past eight and was sat in the calling queue for more than 20 minutes ( must be a lot if complaints) to be out through to a lady that said I need to ring sports direct as they had given yodel the incorrect address details. I explained that no I haven't ordered anything from sports direct. Anyway she eventually found the correct consignment number after putting me in hold for ages and advised it was still out for delivery and would be there by nine pm ( ten minutes away)
It didn't arrive..... I've rung in this morning to be told its out today ( I needed it yesterday) and that it failed due to there being no access to the property around 14.00 which is complete rubbish! Why did the lady I speak to last night insist it was still due fur delivery. My husband laughed when I told him Yodel are the courier his parcels he ordered for monthers day came 4 days late. Will never use Yodel again terrible service.
On a few occasions, I have had an extremely bad experience with yodel. They are very economical with the truth. Their drivers are drilled to lie about leaving cards when in fact no cards get left behind. They have the audacity to keep you waiting for hours on end when they know they will not turn up and then leave you a message to say you were not in the house. I sometimes shudder to think they are allowed to run such a disgusting business in these shores. The service is substandard to say the least. They do not have an appetite for change as this has been allowed to carry on for such a long time. As long as they secure these contracts from businesses and their proceeds keep rising there is no appetite for change. Strictly speaking yodel are such an inconvenience. They do not complement the excellent service provided by companies such as Sports Direct. They turn the whole shopping experience sour leaving you with a broken heart. I recently traveled to see my family that I had not seen for years without the presents I hoped I would give to the loved ones. They kept me waiting till the last minute. I reluctantly had to cancel the order. That is bad, very bad.
My beanbag was sent without problem...problem started at Yodel!! Delivery address was to my son (living in high rise block of flats) Received text on the Wednesday to state they had delivered parcel but no parcel or calling card to my son. Rang Yodel who kept me waiting over 15 mins then cut off, rang again...13 min wait this time but did speak to pleasant operator. The parcel was delivered all right but to some random person living in this high rise block of flats!!! OMG! Needless to say, no sign of the beanbag and since its now Friday me thinks we'll never get it. Nice operator has launched an investigation and states that maybe this person has forgotten to hand beanbag to my son. Happy customer - I think not! Don't use them.
The service was very easy in terms of tracking and very effective. It delivered ahead of time and in good condition.
I GOT MY ITEMS I SENT FOR , THEY GOT DELIVERD BY YODEL.GREAT SERVICE AND ALSO EASY TO CHECK WERE YOUR ORDER IS ONLINE ,TRY THIS SERVICE FOR YOUR SELF,YOU WILL BE SINGING YODEL HAY HE HE BACK,,,,,,,,,
Ordered my phone which should of come today, been waiting in all day & receive a text at 4.45 to say that sorry we have missed you we have posted a calling card through your door. Well Yodel, you never came as I've been at home all day waiting for my new phone!Oh & tried to ring customer service where I was put on hold for 15mins but never got through. Not happy at all,I want my phone!
They are very very good at not delivering a parcel. The address on the system was incomplete so I called them up to update the driver. I was told that the driver could only be contacted at the depot. Which in itself is strange as one would assume that contacting the driver would be kind of important for a delivery company.
We waited all day and around luckily we were working on the outside of the building so we thought we would catch them. Around 5pm the delivery status shows as attempt made but now one contactable. I guess the invisible van was hard for us to spot!
This is not my first bad experience with Yodel. They previously lost a very important parcel.
Amazon told me that my parcel was due for delivery by 17 May 2013. I checked the parcel tracker service and saw that Yodel say they attempted delivery but my address was wrong. My home is awkward to find so I called up to give details. All day today their site has said "Gatwick Service Centre out for delivery 8:50 am" and here we are, over 8 hours later and no sign, no call, no text, nothing, zip, nada. I know they say they can deliver anytime between 7:00 am and 9:00 pm ~ potentially a 14 hour day for the driver and that doesn't even include getting back to the depot. I could go into driving hours and multi-drop rules (assuming they don't use a tachograph which would be more punitive to driving hours). Given that on a good day with no traffic or other hold-up Crawley is 45 minutes away from my home I can only conclude that I am not getting my parcel today. This is particularly annoying in that yesterday I spent some time on the phone giving precise details of how to find my home and passed on my home number and mobile number. A thorough waste of my day and I will probably have to go through it again until the parcel is eventually delivered. A text to give even a 4 hr time slot would be preferable to the way I have been treated today.
UPDATE
Parcel finally delivered at 7:25 pm. On talking to the driver it is clear my directions weren't passed and the delivery was only made because the driver used his initiative. I do not blame the driver for my experience. I will endeavour to find out who the courier is next time and if it is Yodel I would rather not place an order for goods. If they operated a text based system, like DPD did on 2 occasions for me about a week ago, my rating would be that much higher.
Yodel have a very efficient tracking system which you can view on line. I knew exactly were my parcel was at all times from the factory to my door.
I always receive my package on time, however to the wrong house. My next door neighbor seems to receive my package as you don't take notice of the numbers on the houses. Its very frustrating as she is very elderly and cannot see the parcels so thinks they are for her and gets confused. PLEASE just take more notice of house numbers in future and stop rushing.
Why do yodel pretend that they tried to deliver your parcel when they didn't? They say they left a card, but they didn't! They didn't leave a card because they didn't attempt delivery! Totally crap service!
i ordered a present for my daughters birthday a few days ago- and got a delivery date if the 17th May. Today- the 16th, i checked its transit and was shocked to see it had been "delivered" yesterday at 13.39pm. BUT it said that it was at the mItcham centre at that same time. I was able to see that it had been signed for by "someone" who had the same christian name as myself- i always sign using my signature, never my first name. I tried calling Yodel's number but was asked to give the number on the card..... but , I hadnt actually recieved one...because it had been delivered obviously. I then went on their website chat and tried to find out where it was. I was told that there was a signature which was, unfortunately, unreadable, yet on their website it clearly states just my Christian name. I said i was out all day at work on wednesday, and have been round to all my neighbours and they havent received anything. Yodel were of no help whatsoever, couldnt tell me the name of the driver, and just to take it up with Amazon. As far as I am concerned, there has been a theft and am tempted to go to the police on this matter. They couldnt even tell me the number of the building it had been "delivered" to and couldnt care less- her name was Karen on the chat. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING SERVICE WHICH IS FULL OF THIEVING SCUM.
i've had yodel in the past & they have never let me down they are punctual & deliver your package in one piece its a shame that can't be said for other delivery companies so yes i would highly recommend them to take care of my deliveries & what makes it even better you can track your order so there are no added worries
I organised my parcel to be collected and sent back to amazon 3 TIMES with this company, and each time the driver just didn't bother to show up. I didn't get a card through my door or anything, just a text to say they had "attempted" collection, thank God Amazon have taken my complaint on board and refunded me the item anyway, and have now arrange city link to come and collect the item for me. The last time I called to tell them yet again the driver had now showed, the guy cut me off!! worst company ever! don't use them. Suzi
I broke my Nexus 4 by mistake and I needed a new handset ASAP. So VIRGIN in a good will send me a new Nexus 4 to exchange with the broken one. I need this phone of the most upmost importance because my girl is pregnant (7 half months gone) and I have know way of knowing if she's ok. I rang Yodel to explain why this is so important to me and they was keep on lying to me. I wanted to let the driver know this is important and to move to delivery sooner. However they said they can only E-mail Loughborough service centre. within a few minute's look on the internet I seen the service centres number (0115 986 0431) by which time was to late. When I rang them the second time I said I want to talk to the manger and they refused and they said on my 3rd call they will get the manger to ring me. I was thinking yeah sure they will and was I right 'yeah' they never called me. then I rang Virgin I told them everything what's happened. Later on I find at 19:17 they attempted delivery ! Which is again lies I have been in all day and they known how important this is. THANKS YODEL !!!
I have told Virgin mobile about everything and there is going to be a investigation from Virgin mobile because in there words 'We have had a lot of unhappy customers with them'. I am also in morning going to ring Trading Standards for this as not putting me to the manager is a breach of the fair trading ACT and just disrespectful. With how mad and upset you YODEL people can do this when I explained how imported it was shows your integrity is as much good as my cats. I'll be doing my upmost for you to lose Virgin mobile as you customer. Bring back DHL or American Express lest they get the job done right without lies.
I placed an online order with Toolstation yesterday for delivery today.
Since I last ordered online, Toolstation have switched from Royal Mail to comedians Yodel.
The order which I required for tomorrow never showed up with Yodel today.
I have checked the Yodel online tracking which is a joke.
I have emailed Toolstation & cancelled my order as I am not prepared to wait until Yodel get around to delivering to me.
I will never again place an online order with Toolstation & you out there now also have been warned.
After the first card i tried to put the card number into there web site and it said oops there is a problem so when i do manage to speak to there customer service and give full instructions and they said they would pass them on why do i get card number two so go on yodel website put in number on card it says oops ther is a problem so i contact company who sent me my parcel they contact yodel and give full instuctions as well as my phone number yet again i get card.i wont be using any one that uses yodel again
If every business in the UK presented themselves in the professional manner that Yodel currently does then doing business in this country would be a great experience. A very well deserved 10/10 for excellence.

I purchase a product for my business on Monday 13th May, 2013. The company I made the purchase from used a delivery service called Yodel, the first I've heard of them. The delivery was due in seven (7) days time. At precisely 8:08am on Wednesday 15th May, 2013 I received a text message and an e-mail informing me that my package would arrive on the said day . The messages also included the tracking number of my package. I went online immediately, entered the tracking number and saw that my package was indeed with the courier. I received my package at 4:37 pm. Again text messages and e-mail message were sent out to ensure that I did receive it. I am quite impressed with Yodel.
The service I've had from a company I've never actually heard of before, Yodel, has been absolutely out standing, it's the best service I've come across in a long time, they sent me a text message via phone to remind me of when my delivery was coming, and had a very useful web page I could use to keep track of where my merchandise was at the time. The customer service was also brilliant, very friendly and had a positive attitude, I'd recommend this service to anyone.
A good home delivery service. Contacts who are prepared to help you and a no fuss depot collection if that is what is best for you.
I ORDERED THE PARTS I REQUIRED AND WAS TOLD DELIVERY WOULD BE IN ABOUT 6-8 DAYS. THEY PARTS ARRIVED 3 DAYS EARLY. YODEL SENT A TEXT TELLING ME THE DAY AND A DELIVERY TIME (TO THE HOUR) WHICH WAS CORRECT,NO HANGING AROUND.
An extremely fast and very reliable very friendly delivery service of the highest magnitude. Simply Superb
Never had a problem with Yodel the drivers are always polite and the delivery always gets here on the day it says it will. Basically in our area it does everything you need from a delivery service.
this is not the 1st time i have had to wait in all day for a parcel to be delivered from yodel this is an absolute joke the last time the tried to fob me off saying there was no access to my house even tho my house is the 1st in the street which is a cul-de-sac i find the drivers jus want to get home as early as possible never mind the customers having to wait in all day!!!!!
Suzi Ifould found this review useful
Great to see a driver who smiled & was cheerful as well as efficient. I've had twerps who ended up in the next village who I decided couldn't read properly otherwise they would have realised where they were! However, this bloke could use a sat nav & was careful not to trample my plants too when reversing into the drive. The product I bought was delivered well wrapped & came extremely fast. I wasn't totally expecting it so haven't properly prepared the ground for the hedging but as it's raining, that's no great hardship.
Overall good experience. Cheers
The problem with Yodel is that they use self employed couriers. I have stopped paying extra for morning delivery because the earliest I ever get my parcels is 2pm. apparently the information about paying for an early delivery doesn't get passed onto the couriers. what is the point of offering a delivery time if yodel can't do it? having to wait in ALL day is an absolute joke, in this day and age you should be given a 3 hour time slot! Also another gripe with the couriers is some of them obviously spend all day puffing on fags in their car while doing deliveries because my parcels absolutely stink! sitting here waiting for some flat pack furniture to arrive and have this awful feeling that it will arrive around tea time and my poor hubby will be building into the small hours!
wish littlewoods etc would start using dpd or parcelforce as these companies, despite there faults are far superior to yodel!
This isn't the first time I've had untold hassle with this shower of flamin pirates, so I've finally had it and am venting. Item reached depot yesterday so there is absolutely no reason whatsoever that it shouldnt be delivered today. Checked tracking which says '' in transit possible delay' the first lie of the day. I wouldn't be surprised if I check later and it says 'delivery attempted' when the driver hasn't been within a 60 mile radius of my house. I will have a very upset little boy who wont have his new kit for his sports day thanks to this joke of a company. I honestly don't why companies continue to use them. They even sent an item of mine back to sports direct once, claiming they tried to deliver 3 times when they hadn't even bothered tryin once!!! DO NOT ORDER from any company that use Yodel. Next day delivery my eye, more like no delivery!!
**UPDATE**
After emailing 'Laura' I got an automated email telling me my parcel is out for delivery today. Fat lot of good that is when I needed it this morning! Here's a bit of info for you Yodel. When somebody uses next day delivery, it's is very very likely that they need the item next day, they aren't just being impatient. If you can't guarantee next day delivery don't offer it! I ordered the items on Saturday and paid for next day, and it is now wednesday and still no parcel. I probably would have got it quicker using standard delivery and saved some money in the process. This really is the worst delivery company in the history of the world. Give me Royal Mail anyday.
Bought an item off e-buyer and paid the extra charges for "guaranteed" Friday delivery .
I have just waited in all day today for this guaranteed delivery.... No delivery was attempted and no card was left at my address.
Just checked online and Yodel are saying "Delivery attempted - Unable to gain access" .... Sorry Yodel - but this is totally untrue. I waited in all day today.
I do understand that sometimes "things can go wrong" - but why the dishonesty by stating that a delivery was attempted - when it clearly was not.
I will now be contacting e-buyer and I will be requesting a full refund of those extra charges that I paid for the so called "guaranteed" delivery.

UPDATE ........To be fair ...... It did come the next day ( the day after I wrote the above review) ...Should have been Friday - came Saturday
I would highly recommend Yodal. My parcel was with me early morning. I wouldn't hesitate to use again.Thank you Yodal!!
I booked Yodel via Parcel2Go to deliver an eBay purchase. I received a text message confirming my parcel would be collected and I waited in all day but no collection was attempted. To make things worse they sent another message later in the day claiming they had attempted collection which was a blatant lie! This experience was repeated after the collection 2 days later after it was rebooked so all in all an absolute waste of time.
Do yourself a favour and avoid.
I've had a couple of bad experiences in the past with Yodel deliveries. This is going back a few months and I'm delighted to say their service has improved drastically. My parcel was delivered on time as promised by a pleasant driver. I also spoke to a girl at their customer services who was really helpful too. I phoned just to check my parcel was on its way as the website wasn't updating with tracking info.
I had a delivery on Wednesday 8 May unfortunately I was not at home. I went on the website and arranged for delivery for Friday and I received confirmation by email. I also spoke to customer services and was assured that my parcel would arrive on FridayI arranged for someone to be at home, they waited in all day but no delivery arrived. On Saturday morning when there was someone at home they tried to deliver again. All I can say is they must have knocked the door with a feather for neither my husband or myself were aware of the door bell or the knocker being used. Very poor communications within the company.
Very pleased with the service that YODEL provide. Every occasion in which I have used them, I have found them to be very professional and effective. My orders have always been delivered a minimum of 2 days before the estimate. Would defiantly recommend to others! Many thanks YODEL, will defiantly continue to use your excellent service.
This was not my first delivery via Yodel but it was certainly the earliest ! No complaints from me even though it was a dressing gown job. This one was on the heavy side but arrived undamaged, intact and complete. Not all carriers are like those portrayed on Channel 4, most damage occurs because of poor packaging. Anyway good job well done many thanks to all Yodellers.
Company Yodel very quick delivery and even sent a text message to my mobile phone to let me know when it was dispatched. Great service, i would recommend to anyone.
It almoust takes longer to have it delivered 4 miles than it took to come 4000 miles from the USA. IT says that delivery has been attempted, but this is not accurate as someone is home at all times. I called 3 times, my phone number was taken down to pass to the driver. No one has called. I am on the phone as I type, no one is answering. If I could, I would avoid this company in the future.
Have been waiting in for 2 days now and still nothing. The tracking service has said they tried to make delivery on first day and left a card! Lies! No card, no attempt at delivery! Second day tracking service said, unable to gain access! More lies! I have had 4 items delivered this week from other delivery company's, every one has been spot on. Yodel is terrible and from other reviews around I am not alone! Pull your finger out, stop lying to customers and do your job, deliver stuff!
I have also contacted the company who use them to recommend they change the delivery company to one that is more reliable!
