Made a mistake on my address, the company delt with very effectively, very happy with my order. They are not the cheapest for everything and I do use the online discounted warehouses heavily but with some items and the rewards H and B can be great

Poor product overpriced and exploited workforce

I no longer am willing to shop at H&B, I used to use them but their product were of economy quality yet at a premium price, I couldn't figure out why their staff looked so miserable until someone told me they are people who were on benefits and have to work at H&B for no pay or they will have their jobseekers benefit sanctioned (stopped)

I was flabbergasted that this could happen in the UK in the 21st century and said "surely not this must be against their Human Rights and what about the minimum wage" I was told that they get around that by saying these unfortunate souls have 'volunteered' yet if they refuse to volunteer they are forced to go onto another scheme called Mandatory Work Activity scheme, where they are forced to work. If they do not take part they have their benefits removed for 13 weeks. A second failure to take part means benefits are removed for six months. Tens of thousands of unemployed people have been treated like this.

I will certainly not be using H&B again after discovering this is going on I buy FairTrade goods to stop people being exploited yet this privately owned multi million company is getting unpaid labour, subsidised by the tax payer, and they are coerced into working for them just to keep their £53 a week benefits. Disgusting, good bye Holland & Barret you are abhorrent.

Beauty from within.

A great health store with a lot of vitamins, minerals and other supplements available to everyone. You'll need to know yourself and what you require - if not I've found the staff at their stores are knowledgeable up to a point, based on any information you happen to provide. They have a lot of promotions - such as the penny sale - and have recently introduced a loyalty card which has earned me a voucher in no time at all. They also stock body building supplements if you want to increase your body fat to resemble a slow Gorilla, but not as much as GNC with their whey vomit. What I like about them most are their competitively priced and far fresher nuts, plus a host of other yummy snick-snack products such as Nakd, and Wallaby bars.

Good online shopping, quick and discounts were honoured. Worryingly, a lot of supplements do not list possible serious side effects, herbs aint always safe, and web definitions are a bit short and sweet for example chromium supplements cited as aiding weight loss etc, unlisted with side effects of which there were many and it worries me that some supplements can be detrimental as it can badly interact with ie antacids ibuprofen and insulin ,and a lot of prescribed meds and you should possibly consult a pharmacist ,most are happy to help, but they dont work in h&b!! so for a store that sells some possibly toxic tabs, no one even monitors the quantity nor has a consultation room. pop to boots and ask their advice before taking a couple of tubs home if you are worried about a medical condition, see a dr, this is an alternative/complimentary health food shop after all, not intended to replace chemist shops or a gp!

Can't fault them- have shopped in H&B for years both online and in store. Only ever had one mishap when a product was out of date and they sent me a £10 voucher!. Worth mentioning Puritan's Pride are the American version of H&B (all owned by same company) and have identical products (packaging too). They are much much cheaper -even with postage and packing- if you are prepared to buy in bulk.

Ordering on line is simple and fast delivery too. In store always helpful as well. Been using them weekly for well over 12 years now at varying stores, which ever happens to be closer as at the time, I even go to their stores when on holiday and never a problem. The only thing I could say is that they could supply more Vegan products. Other than that faultless.
